Service Overview
ACT (Accrual to Clinical Trials) is a CTSA program-led national initiative that uses SHRINE to connect i2b2 implementations across multiple CTSA awardee institutions to create a federated infrastructure for recruitment. Interested researchers can issue a single query and receive information about number of matching patients at different institutions. With appropriate approvals, investigators can use this information to find collaborators and perform recruitment activities. This is of particular use for studies of rare patient populations, where a sufficiently large cohort cannot be found at any single institution.
