The CTSC offers a variety of Services and Resources to support clinical and translational research. Use of the CTSC’s inpatient, outpatient and core laboratory services (including molecular core) requires formal approval through our electronic protocol authoring and review system (ePAR). As part of the application process, investigators working on human subjects’ studies will be required to submit documentation of IRB approval. Investigators will also be asked to provide a detailed project description for scientific review. Applications for these resources are accepted on a rolling basis and can be submitted at any time. An expedited review is available for projects that have been previously peer-reviewed and approved, and for those requesting only use of the CTSC’s core laboratory services (without use of inpatient our outpatient units) or only participant recruitment assistance without direct patient/participant interaction.
Other CTSC services, including biostatistical consultation, data management resources, and the CTSC’s 3D Printing Core Facility can be requested at any time via a simplified request form that can be completed in under 5 minutes by someone familiar with the associated research project. When submitting these forms, investigators can link the request to an already approved research project (e.g., one using inpatient or outpatient resources) or describe a new project that has not previously used CTSC resources. Investigators are encouraged to use these expedited forms to consult with the CTSC’s Biostatistics Core during the planning stage of a project.
The CTSC also offers admission to its education programs, training awards, and seed funding awards through an RFA-based application process. These opportunities are normally offered once a year and are announced to Weill Cornell research community as well as the research communities at our partner institutions via broadcast e-mails.
