The CTSC Core Informatics Group provides software, training, and custom programming to support data collection and management needs of clinical researchers throughout the CTSC’s multi-institutional partnership. The group is led by Elizabeth Wood, MS, who is also Co-Director of the Informatics program within the CTSC. Specific data management-related services include REDCap and mobile app development.
For REDCap service provision as well as recruitment-related services, the Core Informatics Group works in close collaboration with Weill Cornell’s Architecture for Research Computing in Health (ARCH) infrastructure. This collaboration connects CTSC tools with institutional resources such as the electronic data warehouse, which supports the direct flow of patient data from the outpatient medical records system into REDCap databases. ARCH workshops are held on the last Thursday of every month to learn about the suite of tools and services available to help researchers safely and effectively use electronic patient data. Researchers from all CTSC partner institutions are welcome to drop in. (See http://arch.weill.cornell.edu for more information.)
