Community Interactive Videoconferencing (CIVIC)

CIVIC is an interactive educational initiative that connects health experts with diverse community organizations in New York City. Health information and preventative practices are delivered on a wide scale to underserved audiences with the use of videoconferencing technology. A research arm of CIVIC evaluates outcomes of the program in promoting healthy lifestyle changes over time, and the effectiveness of using videoconferencing based technology.

This program was developed in partnership with Hunter College, Center for Translational and Basic Research and Cornell University Cooperative Extension, and features a variety of health experts from CTSC partner institutions.

This program is free to all community based organizations and is typically offered on weekdays. Sessions take approximately 1 hour and consist of a short presentation followed by a Question and Answer or an instructor led exercise program. Please email ctsc-community@med.cornell.edu to request a CIVIC event on behalf of your community organization.
