CTSC Master’s Degree Alumnus, Matthew Simon, MD, MS, will be speaking on July 31st, 2019, at the Medicine Grand Rounds addressing updates in Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Simon received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his Medical degree from Albert Einstein College. He began his residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Cornell Medicine in internal medicine, preventive medicine and infectious diseases. He then began his Clinical and Translational Investigation Master’s Degree, researching “Cost-Effectiveness of Blood Donor Screening for Babesiosis in Endemic Regions” which coincided with his residency in infectious diseases. With resources offered through the Clinical and Translational Science Center, he completed his MS research project and graduated in 2013.

Matthew Simon is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases and an Assistant Professor of Healthcare Policy and Research in the Division of Comparative Effectiveness and Outcomes Research. He is the Associate Hospital Epidemiologist and an Assistant Attending Physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

The Master's Degree in Clinical Translational Investigation combines rigorous academics and strategic, practical skills, challenging students to apply scientific theory, concepts, methods, and innovative, team-oriented management to help solve complex biomedical and health issues.
