KL2 Scholars Awards

The KL2 Scholars Program was developed to create a cadre of trained postdoctoral (MD, PhD) clinical and translational researchers with the skills to tackle complex biomedical challenges using impactful solutions to accelerate the clinical and translational continuum. The award provides junior faculty and senior residents and fellows with the protected time (minimum of time & effort: 75% or 50% for surgeons) to pursue training through our rigorous didactic coursework and to conduct high-quality clinical translational mentored research. Our curriculum includes a vast array of courses, mentoring workshops, e-learning courses, and seminars to catalyze creativity, entrepreneurship, leadership, and culminates with either an Advanced Certificate or Masters Degree in Clinical Translational Investigation.

KL2 Scholars are appointed for up to 2 years and awardees receive up to $80,000 per year of salary support at the NIH approved rate and up to $8,000 for research related expenses. Funding for supplies, research support, travel to present at national conferences and symposia is also provided in addition to the plethora of resources offered through the CTSC such as multi-level mentoring support and career development. Individuals from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
