News and Congratulations
Congratulations to CTSC KL2 Scholar and Master's degree alumna, Sarah Lieber, MD, MS, on her work being featured in Express Healthcare Management.
Dr. Lieber's poster and abstract regarding a recent presentation at the American College of Rheumatology meeting, "Self-Perceptions of Agining and Physical Activity in Older Adults with Arthritis: Does General Health Matter?" is discussed in Express Healthcare Management. The discussion features the findings that individuals with arthritis who hold negative beliefs about aging tend to engage in less physical activity and view themselves as less healthy. Dr. Lieber emphasized the importance of these finding for healthcare professionals, and how it can be incorporated in future conversations with older patients.
Dr. Lieber is a current KL2 Scholar, appointed in 2021, where her research is focusing on "Aging in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus". During her KL2 Training, Dr. Lieber's mentoring team includes Dr. Lisa Mandl, MD, MPH of Hospital for Special Surgery, Dr. Iris Navarro-Millan, MD of Weill Cornell Medicine, and Dr. Manney Reid, MD of Weill Cornell Medicine.
