Congratulations to CTSC Master's degree alumna, Dr. Darshana Dadhania, MD, MS, for receiving the American Society of Transplantation’s Clinical Science Investigator Award at the American Transplant Congress (ATC) on June 5th!

The Clinical Science Investigator Award recognizes mid-career investigators who have made substantial contributions to the field of transplantation medicine. 

Dr. Dadhania is an active clinician, investigator, and mentor. Her academic career has focused on development of diagnostic and prognostic noninvasive biomarkers for long-term success of kidney allografts and management of highly sensitized kidney transplant patients and infectious complications post-transplant. She holds several administrative positions including Medical Director of Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program and Program Director of Transplant Nephrology Fellowship at New York-Presbyterian/WCM.

Dr. Dadhania received her Master's degree in 2009 where her research focused on "Role of Inflammation in the Prediction of Renal Allograft Outcomes in Recipients". During her Master's training, Dr. Dadhania's mentoring team included Dr. Manikkam Suthanthiran, MD of Weill Cornell Medicine and Dr. Phyllis August, MD, MPH of Weill Cornell Medicine. 

The Master's Degree in Clinical Translational Investigation combines rigorous academics and strategic, practical skills, challenging students to apply scientific theory, concepts, methods, and innovative, team-oriented management to help solve complex biomedical and health issues.
