Congratulations to CTSC Summer Fellow ’16, Orrin Belden, MD, on being awarded the prestigious James Curtis Award from the National Medical Foundation. The award goes to recipients who display outstanding academic scholarship, leadership, and involvement in community service.

Orrin Belden was appointed a CTSC Summer Fellowship in 2016 during which he conducted research focusing on A Precision Medicine approach to evaluating PI5P4K as a target for Castrate Resistant Prostate Cancer Therapy.” His mentor was Mark A. Rubin, Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Belden is currently a physician at Mount Sinai in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care & Pain Management.

The CTSC Summer Intensive Fellowships in Clinical/Translational Research for Medical Students is an 8-week continuous, full-time program that provides medical students between their first and second year of medical school with an introduction to basic, translational, or clinical research.
